KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian squash ace world number one Datuk Nicol David marched into the quarterfinals of the Carol Weymuller Open 2012 in Brooklyn, New York, today.

 The 28-year-old Nicol defeated Australia's Kasey Brown in straight sets, 11-9, 11-5 and 11-6.

 Earlier, Malaysia's number two Low Wee Wern was shown the exit by England's Laura Massaro in another first round match.

 Wee Wern started off brilliantly when she took the first two sets with 11-7 and 11-4 but allowed the English player to claw her way back.

 Massaro eventually gained her composure and took the next three games 11-2, 11-3 and 11-8 to emerge victorious.
