Mano Menezes. Filepic: APWROCLAW: Brazil coach Mano Menezes was pleased with his side as they ran out 4-0 winners over Japan in Wroclaw yesterday, and believes  he is closing in on knowing his best side.

Two goals from Neymar were sandwiched between strikes by Paulinho and Kaka, and the 50-year-old explained that his side are  getting close to becoming a perfect team.

"We've been working on finding an ideal selection. The national team has been found gradually because we had some problems along the way, but we are moving towards what we imagined," said Menezes.

The team have scored 10 goals without reply over the course of the week after beating beat Iraq 6-0, and Menezes believes  the 2014 World Cup hosts will soon have a regular nucleus of players from which the starting XI will be selected from.

"The national team now pass to a stage in which the dropping of a player and another coming in will not change the performance. It happened with the departure of Marcelo in this game.

"The selection is starting to become consistent. That's the idea, maintaining the majority of players being chosen."

Goalscorer Kaka was also in a buoyant mood as he celebrated his first international goal in over two years.

The Real Madrid midfielder was recalled to the squad for the pair of friendlies and repaid his coach's faith by getting on the score sheet against the Asia Cup champions.

"I contributed to the results of these two friendlies and had a longer run-out," he told Globo TV.

"I contributed a lot and I hope the fans enjoyed it. I want that to happen more often. I don't want to be picked sporadically. I want to give myself an advantage to gain more call-ups."
