MADRID: Malaga earned a nervy win over Real Valladolid as Joaquin Sanchez (pic) provided a late strike at La Rosaleda this morning to secure a 2-1 victory in a Primera Liga match.

Midfielder Joaquin frustrated Valladolid when he hit a right-footed shot into the lower left of the net in the 87th minute.

Valladoid stunned Malaga when Manucho found the net in the ninth minute. However, Malaga equalized through their star midfielder Isco in the 37th minute.

In another match, Valencia had to slog before beating Athletic Bilbao 3-2 at the Mestalla.
