MADRID: Despite Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid not seeing eye-to-eye right now, logic dictates that in the end, the Portuguese superstar will sign a new deal with ‘Los Blancos’, reported Marca.
The relationship between the attacker and club president Florentino Perez is not great at present following their falling out at the beginning of the season.
Right now, Ronaldo is not thinking about signing a new deal.
He intends to see out his contract with Real in a professional manner and then leave on a free transfer. He would even consider rejecting any new deal offered to him.
Real, on the other hand, are trying to figure out how it can offer Ronaldo a new deal that includes a pay rise in keeping with both his status inside the team and his demands.
One of the ways to meet Ronaldo’s demands would be by selling Kaká thereby removing the Brazilian from the club’s wage bill.
The figure on the table for Ronaldo's new salary, once he signs a new deal, is €15m after tax per season, which would make him the club's highest paid player ever.
In this electoral year, allowing Ronaldo to leave the club would be too great a loss for Pérez to even consider it.
