Francesco Totti Has 6 Year Contract To Become Roma Director Waiting For Him When He Retires

The seemingly timeless Francesco Totti may finally hang up the boots when this season comes to a close.

If he does choose to go that way, it will bring an end to a brilliant 25-year career at one of the biggest clubs in Europe. However, that by no means suggests that his affiliation with AS Roma will come to an end.

According to club president James Pallotta, there is a six-year deal to become Roma director waiting for Totti to sign should he decide to retire at the end of the current campaign.

"We've not spoken (about his playing future) but Francesco has a six-year contract as a director," Pallotta said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Our objective now is to qualify for the Champions League, even if the season's not over yet because (league leaders) Juve still have to play Napoli so I'm hoping for a draw in that game.

"We've just got to think about this now, not about contracts. I'm confident we can finish second.

"The Champions League is where this club belong. We've slowed down a bit, but I think we'll pick up the pace again towards the end."

The 40-year-old Totti, who made his professional debut for Roma way back in 1995, has made an impressive 783 appearances for the club. He also helped them win one Serie A title, as well as finish in second place on eight occasions.
