Meet Tana, Team Malaysia Athlete And Miss Malaysia Finalist

Not just another pretty face. That is the best phrase to describe Tanalaksiumy Mahenthiran Rayer, a Malaysian athlete, who is also one of the finalists of Miss Malaysia 2017.

The 22-year-old lass, who is also an accounting student says that although she dabbles in modelling, athletics remains her first love, which is why it is not surprising that Tanalaksiumy or as she's more fondly known Tana, is part of the Malaysian 4X400 Metres team in the coming SEA Games.

During her stint in Miss Malaysia 2017, Tana managed to become one of the 18 finalists to vie for the crown.

Tana managed to make it as one of the top eight contestants, but unfortunately was not chosen as one of the four finalists.

Despite her failure in the Miss Malaysia 2017 competition, Tana is unmoved by the result and it has affected her hunger for the gold medal in the athletics 4X400 Metres category, which will commence August 22.

Tana is definitely known for her perseverance, which has been proven on more than one occasion, suffering from multiple injuries while running.

According to The Star, Tana said that her ankle injury is nothing compared to when she broke her leg the previous year.

"It was not the first time I suffered a leg injury, because I broke my leg last year. But I managed to recover smoothly," said Tana to The Star.

In preparation of the SEA Games, Tana and the rest of her team, Fatin Faqihah Mohd Yusof, Nurul Faizah Asma Mazlan and Shereen Samson Vallabouy took part in the Thailand Open Track and Field Championships 2017.

The quartet of girls managed to win the silver medal with a time of 3:48.52, 5.1 seconds behind the eventual gold medalist, Thailand.

Surely running on home ground will give the girls an advantage, and they are expected to contribute to the medal count in the SEA Games.

Malaysia is rooting for you Tana, lets #RiseTogether!
