GOTHENBURG: Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson blasted Arsenal over his attempts to sign striker Robin van Persie, reported The Sun.
Ferguson says Arsenal are keeping him in the dark after he made a bid for the Dutch international.
“It’s difficult to know why they are operating in this way. We’ve been trying our best but there’s been no progress," he said.“You know we’ve made a bid but Arsenal have been trying to negotiate with other clubs. "They are not giving anything away. I’ve not got a gut feeling about this one. We have not had any breakthrough.”
United have already made a £15million bid but Arsenal are looking for more than £20m.
Sources close to van Persie, who trained with Arsenal in Germany yesterday, say he wants to move to Old Trafford but Manchester City remain in the frame.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who has never sold a player to Ferguson, would rather van Persie went to Juventus.
Ferguson's frustration boiled over after United failed to score in this morning's friendly with Barcelona in Gothenburg.
