Rest in peace, Megaupload.com

One of the world’s internet celebrity website, Megaupload was shut down Thursday. The founder and several company executives were charged with violation piracy laws.

An indictment accuses Megaupload.com of costing copyright holder more than $500 million lost revenue from pirated films, software and many more. The indictment was unsealed one day after websites including Wikipedia and Craiglist shut down in protest of SOPA, an idea of 2 congressional proposal intended to thwart online piracy.
