Apple Malaysia Drops Prices Of iPhone 5S And 5C, Now From RM1499

Not impressed with the new iPhone 6, and not one to use a larger phone like the iPhone 6 Plus? Well, you can now get the older iPhone models at significantly reduced prices at the Apple online store.

It is a norm for Apple – and almost every smartphone company, for that matter – to reduce the retail prices of its older-generation devices after the release of a new one. Given Apple’s premium-priced iPhones, these discounts can be pretty steep, and offers good value for those looking to get one.

Just how steep are the price reductions this time? Take a look at the new prices of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c:

The iPhone 5s, which is priced as high as RM3149 when it was launched last year, is now only priced at RM1999 (original RRP: RM2399) for the 16GB model and RM2199 (original RRP: RM2749) for the  32GB model; the 64GB version is now no longer available. That means someone who bought the iPhone 5s yesterday would have saved between RM400 to RM550 if the order was made today. Ouch.

On the other hand, the iPhone 5c only has one model available, and it’s the recent 8GB version of the affordable iPhone. Both the 16GB and 32GB variants are no longer available, and the 8GB model is now retailing at RN1499. In addition, the iPhone 4S – which up until yesterday was still available at RM1499 – is also no longer sold at the Apple online store.

Head on to the Apple Malaysia online store for more information. In case you’re wondering, no, there are no indicative prices yet for the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus nor the Apple Watch on the website.
