KUALA LUMPUR: Sambutan tahun baru bagi seorang lelaki warganegara Myanmar bertukar tragedi apabila mati ditikam ketika bergelut dengan sekumpulan penyamun di Jalan Kenanga, Loke Yew, Pudu, di sini, awal pagi ini. 

Ketua Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Kuala Lumpur Datuk Ku Chin Wah berkata dalam kejadian kira-kira 2 pagi itu, mangsa berumur 25 tahun dipercayai dibunuh selepas cuba melawan dengan beberapa suspek yang cuba menyamunnya. 

"Mengikut maklumat seorang saksi, mangsa bersama beberapa rakannya sedang balik dari sambutan tahun baru, tiba-tiba dikelilingi lebih kurang 10 lelaki dipercayai untuk menyamun," katanya pada sidang akhbar di sini, hari ini. 

Katanya, mangsa cuba melawan dengan kumpulan lelaki itu, menyebabkan salah seorang daripada kumpulan itu menikam mangsa di bahagian dada. 

Menyaksikan kejadian itu, rakan mangsa serta kumpulan lelaki terbabit melarikan diri, katanya. 

"Polis sedang giat mengesan kesemua suspek untuk membantu siasatan kes itu mengikut Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan kerana membunuh," katanya. 

Mayat mangsa dihantar ke Hospital Kuala Lumpur untuk bedah siasat.
