IPOH: Kerajaan Negeri tidak akan menutup sekolah kekurangan murid (SKM) walaupun murid di sekolah berkenaan tidak lebih dari tiga atau empat orang  dan ia akan terus beroperasi.

Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir berkata, selain komitmen kerajaan untuk memberi pendidikan kepada rakyat, ia adalah satu pendemokrasian penduduk dan setiap rakyat berhak mendapat pendidikan walaupun hanya seorang murid.

Menurutnya, Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri (JPN) sudah pun dimaklumkan perkara ini dan selepas ini jabatan akan membuat perincian seterusnya bagi isu tersebut.

“JPN sedang memantau dan saya difahamkan buat masa ini tidak ada rancangan untuk menutup terus SKM yang ada di Perak.

“Walaupun ada cadangan mahu menutup SKM ini namun kita perlu lihat dari pelbagai sudut, jika ditutup maka gantinya di mana khususnya sekolah jenis kebangsaan,” katanya kepada pemberita pada sidang akhbar selepas memberi ucapan pada majlis Perhimpunan dan Excutive Talk Bil 1/2013 di Dewan Bankuet, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan, semalam.

Sinar Harian sebelum ini mendedahkan Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Tebing Rebak, Bagan Datoh merupakan salah satu antara 113 sekolah rendah yang mempunyai bilangan murid paling sedikit dan paling mengejutkan, hanya empat murid didaftar di sekolah tersebut.

Difahamkan sekolah itu hanya mempunyai seorang murid dalam tahun satu, tiga, lima dan enam serta dikendalikan seorang guru besar dengan dibantu empat guru serta seorang kakitangan sokongan.

Masalah kekurangan murid di sekolah tersebut bermula sejak 10 tahun lalu, yang mana hanya tinggal 12 murid pada ketika itu dan bilangan murid semakin susut dari setahun ke setahun.
