Although Subang Jaya Police Chief ACP Yahaya Ramli told the press that DNA results will only be in on Monday, the parents are certain that based on scars on the back of the head and forehead, the body is their little William.

Identification was also made based on the short and underpants worn by the boy.

According to The Star, the police earlier theorized that the body floated about 30km down the Klang river from Bukit Lanchong before it got stuck on a boat near the Kampung Sungai Sireh jetty.

William Yau Zhen Zhong, 6, went missing on January 16 after he left the family car in search of his parents who had left their children behind to enter an electrical shop to look for a washing machine.

Police have been combing the entire Putra Heights area, where William was last seen, but to no avail.

Yesterday, police pulled the body of a boy out of Sungai Sireh.

The body was then sent to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for a post-mortem.

Police earlier told the press that the body has decomposed beyond recognition due to having been in the water for several days. It is however believed that the body found is of a boy around 6-7 years old, and is a local.
