The two suspects have been identified as Zulkifli Hussaun 21, and Mohd Hafizullah Che Man, 26 – both from Padang Mercang, Terengganu. KUALA LUMPUR: City police are looking for two suspects and a witness to come forward to assist investigations in an incident where a police vehicle was overturned during the Bersih 3.0 rally last April.
The witness has been identified as Su Kuang Hong, 26, from Puchong.
Police released photofits of the two suspects yesterday.
A Cheras police headquarters spokesman said the two suspects had earlier been told to come forward but they failed to do so.
Police checks at their last known address also showed they no longer stayed there.
"There is enough evidence to prove the two suspects were involved in overturning the police patrol vehicle during the Bersih 3.0 rally.
"If they do not surrender now we will proceed with court proceedings which they must attend."
The spokesman said the duo, together with the witness, will be summoned to give their statements at the Jalan Duta Sessions Court 5 on Jan 15, 16 and 18 if they do not come forward by then.
The case is being investigated under Section 440 of the Penal Code for committing mischief while taking part in an unlawful assembly or in a riot.
Those with information on the suspects could contact investigating officer ASP Azahari Miskon at 012-5015420 or Cheras police headquarters at 03-91452222.
During the April 29 incident, a police patrol car on duty was allegedly attacked by Bersih 3.0 protesters during the rally.
The incident occurred near the Sogo shopping complex when a large crowd of rally participants were directed towards Maju Junction from Dataran Merdeka by Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) officers.
It was reported that as the crowd moved, the police car went through the crowd of angry protesters who threw water bottles and stones, smashing the windscreen.
The policeman driving the car lost control and had crashed into three protesters sitting by the road, seriously injuring one of them.
The protesters were then seen overturning the vehicle.
The injured protester was rushed to a nearby hospital while the other two escaped with minor injuries.
The policeman in the vehicle also suffered minor injuries.
