TEHRAN: Iran is ready to make a movie about the 22-day resistance of the Gazans against Israel, Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported Iran's Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, as saying.

He said that Iranian came out with the film "33 Days," directed by Jamal Shurjeh on the Israeli 33-Day War against Lebanon in 2006, and it now aims to make another joint film with Palestine about the 22 days of resistance by the people of Gaza.

In 2009, in the course of the 22 days Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, a total of 1,434 Palestinians were killed.

Of these, 235 were combatants, however the vast majority of the dead were civilians and non-combatants.

Hosseini had made these remarks when he visited the Palestinian Minister of Youth and Sports Mohammed Ibrahim Al Madhoun Sunday morning in Tehran where he had also stressed on cultural affinities between the two countries.

Hosseini also announced that Iran was ready to equip schools in Gaza and hold programs for schoolchildren including screening movies.

"We hope that Persian language courses will be held in different cities of Palestine in the foreseeable future and we are ready to host university students for further academic education in Iran," he added.

Al Madhoun welcomed Iran's proposal to make the film saying that it should be "registered in history."

"There are cultural and artistic developments in these cultural activities, especially cinema in Iran, and we expect to have more artistic cooperation between our countries,” he added.
