ANKARA, 8 FEBRUARY, 2012: Turkey's Anadolu Agency's journalism and media academy opened its doors on Tuesday with a ceremony held at its headquarters in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
"This is a historic day for the Anadolu Agency. 'New generation journalists' of the Middle East, Central Asia and the Balkans will be trained by the Anadolu Agency," the country's news agency quoted Director General and Executive Board Chairman Kemal Ozturk a saying at the ceremony.
Ozturk said that the academy programme included agency journalism, general news media, war journalism, adding that 38 students have been selected for the first four-month term of the academy.
He said that instructors at the academy included veteran journalists, photojournalists, businesspeople as well as politicians.
